Biography:
Chip joined the firm in December 2007 as an Associate Attorney after serving as Director of Legal Services and In-House Counsel for a local not-for-profit hospital. His practice is focused in health care with special emphasis upon the defense of medical malpractice claims and health care compliance issues.
Chip graduated, with distinction, from the Ohio Northern University, Claude W. Pettit College of Law in 1993. Prior to law school, Chip earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Marshall University. During law school, Chip was a member of the Moot Court Board of Advocates and served as Articles Editor for the Journal of Pharmacy & Law.
After law school, Chip served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Earl E. Stephenson, Judge of Ohio’s Fourth District Court of Appeals. From 2005 – 2009, he was certified in Healthcare Compliance by the Healthcare Compliance Certification Board of the Healthcare Compliance Association.
Chip is admitted to practice in the states of West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky and South Carolina. He is also admitted to the Southern District of Ohio and the Southern District of West Virginia as well as the United States District Courts for the District of South Carolina.
Chip is a Member of the American Bar Association, Defense Research Institute and Defense Trial Counsel of West Viriginia.
Chip is available to accept litigation assignments in West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky and South Carolina.
