Erik Legg Inducted to International Association of Defense Counsel [06/25/2010] Erik W. Legg was inducted as a Member to the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC).
The IADC is an invitation-only professional association for corporate and insurance defense lawyers around the world since 1920. Its activities benefit the approximately 2,500 invitation-only, peer-reviewed members and their clients as well as the civil justice system and the legal profession. IADC members are dedicated to the highest standards of professionalism and service and upholding the rule of law and integrity of the court system.
Erik is a member of the complex litigation team with primary responsibility for pharmaceutical and medical products liability, medical professional malpractice, workplace exposure and injury litigation, and employment discrimination and wrongful discharge claims. In that capacity, he has managed more than one hundred drug product liability cases.

Erik Legg selected as 2010 West Virginia Rising Star [06/25/2010] Super Lawyers selected Farrell, Farrell & Farrell partner, Erik W. Legg, as a West Virginia Rising Star in the Personal Injury - Products Defense practice area. Rising Stars is a listing of top lawyers who are 40 years old and younger who have been in practice 10 years or less. Michael J. Farrell and David A. Stackpole co-authored an article for Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia. [06/21/2010] Michael J. Farrell and David A. Stackpole co-authored an article entitled "Product Liability- The Emergence of the Sophisticated Purchaser and Bulk Supplier Defenses"for Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia. The article outlines two different defenses (Sophisticated Purchaser Defense and Bulk Supplier Defense) to failure to warn claims in products liability actions and how the two defenses can be used together as demonstrated by the recent decision by the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia in Roney v. Gencorp, 654 F. Supp. 2d 501 (S.D. W. Va. 2009).
