Annelie received her Juris Doctor from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in May of 2019. Annelie graduated Magna Cum Laude and was awarded a CALI for the highest grade in Professional Responsibility. She was elected as President of the International Law Society in 2017 and held the position for two semesters. In 2016, Annelie was a Samuel L. Greenbaum recipient and used the funding for a summer legal internship with International Justice Mission in Gulu, Uganda, working with a team of local attorneys who represented women who had been violently evicted from their land.
 
While attending law school, Annelie worked in business and commercial litigation as a legal intern at Seiller and Waterman LLC. She also volunteered as a research assistant and student fellow for Professor Y.S. Lee, head of the Law and Development Institute in Atlanta, Georgia, where she performed research and edited several recently published works. She also had the opportunity to join two externships, one with the Office of the Commonwealth Attorney, and the other with the Judge Advocate General at Fort Knox, Kentucky. 
 
Before attending law school, Annelie graduated from the University of Maryland University College in 2012. She served honorably in the U.S. Army National Guard from 2002 – 2008 and worked as a Flight Operations Specialist for the D.C. Army National Guard. After leaving the National Guard, Annelie worked for USAA in Colorado Springs, Colorado, as an Auto Adjuster.
 
Originally, Annelie is from Kentucky but has lived in seven different states, as well as Israel, and Germany. Annelie is committed to the community here in Huntington West Virginia and is excited to be raising her three children in a place they are proud to call home.
 
Annelie is licensed to practice law in Kentucky and will be taking the West Virginia bar exam in February 2020.  Her primary area of practice is medical malpractice and commercial litigation.
